Young Accommodation

With a population of 7,141, Young  is 81km North East of Temora. An old goldrush town that has since become known as the 'Cherry Capital' of Australia. Young is a large producer of cherries and stone fruit. In an average season its cherries represent about 80% of the state's production. Gold was discovered in Young - then known as Lambing Flat - in 1860. Thousands of European and Chinese miners descended on the town A riot ensued and from this the White Australia Policy was formed.
