Can’t decide on your next club destination?

Dear Club / Group Members,

Temora Aviation Museum would like to present your club with the opportunity to visit Australia’s most unique aviation tourist attraction, which is located in the Riverina district of NSW.

The Museum displays ex-military aircraft, which have a historical significance to Australia. What makes our collection unique is that our aircraft are maintained in airworthy condition and are flown on a regular basis.

Built on the former site of WWII No. 10 Elementary Flying Training School, the Museum features photographic and audio-visual displays on aircraft, aircrew and the magic of flight.

The theatrette plays documentaries featuring rare wartime footage, giving visitors insight of what it’s like to fly in these aircraft.

... and did we mention our Flying Weekends?

The Museum hosts flying weekends regularly throughout the year. History comes alive as the aircraft collection take to the skies accompanied by interesting commentary, interviews and music. You will also have the opportunity to talk with the pilots and get up close to the aircraft. To find out the dates of our flying days visit the Temora Aviation Museum website or give us a call!

All we ask is that you phone to notify us of the date on which your club wishes to attend. We are looking forward to your club visiting Temora Aviation Museum soon!

Regards,

Staff, Crew and Volunteers

What happens at a Flying Day?

The majority of the Museum’s aircraft will be flown on a Flying Day, with the schedule being set on the day after consideration is given to the weather and aircraft serviceability.

Visitors are able to view aircraft takeoff from a close, but safe distance into the skies above the Museum. Due to this close proximity of the aircraft, visitors are able to experience unique sights, sounds and aromas associated with the aircraft. While the aircraft is in flight, the commentators on the ground provide informative and entertaining information relating to the aircraft being flown.

The day is broken by a lunch break for half an hour and finishes with the opportunity for visitors to get up close to the aircraft and pilots during the ramp talk at the end of the day.

The Museum will often include visiting aircraft in its schedule to add to the day's events.

The Museum has a parking area next to the Museum, which has parking attendants on Flying Days, to direct visitors to the next available parking space. This parking lot fills up quickly when busy, in which case parking is then directed to a nearby paddock area.

By aircraft:
Pilots flying into Temora are recommended to be on the ground by 1030 to ensure they do not miss out on the days activities. Due to flying activity throughout the day, the Museum prefers that pilots depart after 1500, however the Airport remains open throughout the day.
