Kenny's love for aviation began while listening to his pilot Dad talk about airplanes. After soloing an airplane when he was sixteen, Kenny decided to pursue a career in aviation. Obtaining his Airframe and Powerplant licenses in his native USA , he then pursued his Commercial Pilot License.

While working for a maintenance organization at Bankstown, Kenny secured a job with David Lowy. In 1999 Kenny was offered the transfer to Temora to oversee the construction of the Temora Aviation Museum.

In February 2002, Kenny was appointed as Chief Executive of the Temora Aviation Museum.
